Toplis Logistics Cold Chain Warehousing Project
| CLIENT Toplis Logistics Inc. (VELCO ASIA Group) | LOCATION Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila, Philippines | TYPE Multi-Temperature-Zone Cold Storage |
Project Overview
A multi-temperature-zone cold storage facility for Toplis Logistics, with a total capacity of over 10,000 tons. It contains three temperature zones — a -22°C to -28°C low-temperature room, a blast freezing room, and a chiller room — plus a low-temperature dispatch platform and sorting area. The setup supports storage at various temperatures and keeps order picking and dispatch fast.
Technical Solution
Insulation panels: PIR polyurethane sandwich panels, with good thermal insulation and weather resistance.
Refrigeration units: German BITZER compressor racks — four-unit parallel screw, four-unit parallel piston, and three-unit parallel two-stage — paired with Baier air coolers.
Control system: PLC fully-automatic control with Schneider Electric components and HMI. It centralizes control, keeps continuous operation logs, and tracks all equipment status around the clock.
Energy Efficiency & Safety
Refrigeration units run on an “N+1 standby” basis; the PLC decides how many units stay active at any given time to save energy.
Automatic temperature control and defrosting, with real-time checks on equipment status, chamber temperature, and fault diagnostics.
Remote alarm system: audible/visual alarms plus SMS alerts for over-temperature, uneven temperature distribution, compressor overheating, power interruption, door-open delay, and similar cases.
UPS installed to keep temperature and humidity readings running during power outages and prevent control system failure.
